Injectables Q & A

What are anti-aging injectables?

Injectables are substances or medications that a medical provider inserts under your skin using a needle and syringe to combat the signs of aging. Some injectables alter how your nerves and muscles collaborate, while others add volume. Both types make small, temporary alterations to your appearance that don’t require surgery.

Whether you’d rather not get cosmetic surgery or have a medical condition preventing you from doing so, cosmetic injectables at Dr. Badawy Complete Care offer a safer and less permanent alternative. Similar to many cosmetic procedures, injectables are often used to create a more youthful appearance by minimizing signs of aging.

What are my options for injectables?

Dr. Badawy Complete Care offers two types of cosmetic injectables, which you can get together or individually, according to your personal goals and preferences.

If you’re interested in cosmetic injectables, your options include:

Botox

Botox and a similar injectable called Xeomin® contain a neuromodulator that stops targeted motor nerves from communicating with their corresponding muscles. As a result, creases in the skin that have appeared because of unintentional muscle flexes and deliberate facial expressions flatten out while the toxin is active, which is usually at least three months.

Fillers

Fillers, also called dermal fillers, are products that add soft, supple volume to specific areas of the face or hands. They can make up for lost subdermal fat, which tends to happen with age, or add plumpness to areas that never had it to balance your facial proportions. Dr. Badawy Complete Care offers fillers from high-end brands Juvéderm® and Belotero®.

What are the results of cosmetic injectables?

Between the two types of cosmetic injectables you can get at Dr. Badawy Complete Care, you can make many different alterations to your appearance. During your consultation, you may detail your goals and expectations to your provider. Some goals you can achieve using cosmetic injectables are:

  • Fewer fine facial lines
  • Fewer large wrinkles
  • Plumper cheeks
  • More voluminous lips
  • Improved facial symmetry
  • Less visible bones and tendons in the hands

Botox has a few uses outside of cosmetic alterations, too. Your provider might recommend it as a treatment for hyperhidrosis, chronic migraines, or cervical dystonia, among other conditions.
